Here are a few important pieces of information to help make your experience as enjoyable and smooth as possible. Please see below.
Wet Rabbit Kayaks is a solo kayak outfitter, which means we are not on site unless there are reservations made in advance. With that said, there are several different paddling outfitters who launch from the same place, and sometimes at the same time, so it is important to follow the instructions given at the time of booking for meet-up so you don't end up confused or delayed.
Our tandem kayaks are 12ft long and can be set up for one paddler or two. Each tandem kayak can hold up to a maximum weight of 300 lbs, however, please keep in mind when booking that the more weight you put in your kayak, the harder it is to maneuver and the less of a view you'll have through your glass bottom cockpit. Our solo kayaks are 9ft long and May hold a maximum weight of 200lbs.
All Wet Rabbit paddlers meet at the same kayak launch within Silver Springs State Park. Instructions for parking and meet-up can be found on the booking pages, as well as in your confirmation email. Please follow the instructions given to ensure all paddlers get on the water on time and your experience runs as smooth as possible.
Alcohol, drones, pets, hardshell items and oily products are all prohibited.
Pets may be brought to the park and are allowed on the trails, but not inside the kayaks. It is illegal to leave your pets in your car and the State Park Rangers will not hesitate to break your window to get them out. Please leave your pets at home if you will not have a handler on site during your paddle.
Swimming is not allowed within the Silver Springs State Park boundaries, therefore there is no option of exiting your kayak during your 2 hour rental, the Half Day rental or the Guided Tours. There is a stop with bathrooms and picnic tables during your full-day rental.
Due to high demand and limited availability, no-shows, no-calls and late arrivals will be cancelled without refund. A late departure cannot be accommodated.
Please see Frequently Asked Questions below.
Please reach us at info@WetRabbitKayaks.com if you cannot find an answer to your question.

Our tandem kayaks can hold a maximum of 2 persons with a maximum combined weight of 300 lbs.
Our single kayaks can hold a maximum of 1 person weighing 200 lbs or less.
At this time, we can accommodate a maximum of 22 paddlers at one time using a mixture of both single and tandem kayaks.
Alcoholic beverages, pets, shoes, hard surfaced coolers, oil based sunscreen and any other products that may damage or obstruct the glass bottom cockpit. Dry storage is included with the rental and some of these items may be stored there. Please check with a staff member at check-in before taking.
At this time, swimming is not permitted within the boundaries of Silver Springs State Park. Because this is our sole location for rentals and tours, all renters and paddlers must stay inside their kayak at all times. Failure to comply may result in hefty fines and/or jail time.
You can expect to see turtles, birds, fish, gators, manatees and monkeys. Yes, monkeys!
Yes, you are likely to see alligators during your paddle, as this is their natural habitat. Here, they reach lengths of 12 feet and are not professionally trained or tame. With that said, they are used to hundreds of people paddling through their areas and are not likely to approach you without encouragement. It is illegal to approach, feed or harass them and failure to respect this rule may result in hefty fines, jail time and/or extreme danger.
Yes! Silver Springs is home to hundreds of free-ranging rhesus macaque monkeys and they're known to travel up and down the river and hang out all over. Although they're cute, they carry a deadly disease and can often be aggressive. So these guys are best observed at a safe distance from the water, with no food in sight. Keep your eyes up and on the trees! Book a guided tour to learn more about them!
It rains often in Florida, especially during the spring and summer seasons. We will not close for rain, however, If there is thunder and lightening within 10 miles during your reserved time slot we will not send you out. If this is the case, and you are unable to reschedule, you may receive a refund. Otherwise, we'll typically play it by ear, keep an eye on the weather, and stay in contact about your reservation status.
All cancellations must be made at least 24 hours in advance of your scheduled reservation to receive a refund. Refunds will not be given within 24 hours or less of your reservation, unless otherwise agreed upon by staff. Failure to show up on time or at all for your scheduled reservation will result in a cancellation without refund. Reservations may be rescheduled at any time.
